Kaye Brier born Karlowe Brier hails from Tanjay City, Negros Oriental. She is the first-ever trans woman Journalist in the Visayas Region. Kaye finished her Media and Communication Studies degree at the University of the Philippines Cebu; where she worked as the Regional Correspondent for the Philippine Daily Inquirer covering politics, law enforcement, gender equality, natural disasters, and environmental issues.

 

Her news coverage during the Super Typhoon Odette in 2021 was named finalist for the 9th Globe Media Excellence Awards for the 'News Report of the Year'. She is also a Gandang NegOrense 2022 title-holder and an LGBTQ+ activist having spoken to various national and international organizations and events; she loves working with members in the rural communities telling their stories which she think needs to be recognized and amplified.
