Negrense Tops November 2020 Physician Licensure Examination

The Professional Regulation Commission said on Thursday that the Philippines has new doctors, with 3,538 out of 4,704 passed the Physician Licensure Examination (PLE). Silliman University - Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental garnered a 91.38% passing rate in the November 2020 Physician Licensure Examination of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), producing 53 new doctors. This year’s topnotcher is Jomel Garcia Lapides from the University of the Philippines-Manila. A tie for a second are Patrick Joseph Amunategui Mabugat of the University of Saint La Salle and Adrian Emmanuel Diago Teves from the University of Santo Tomas, both are from Negros. Adrian Emmanuel Diago Teves is the son of the Bayawan City Mayor Pryde Henry Teves. He is a magna cum laude graduate of Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy (PT) last 2014. The same year, he took the board exam for PT and ranked second place among all takers. Patrick Joseph Mabugat finished his baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology at the University of Negros Oriental Recoletos (UNOR) who also topped during the Medical Technologist Licensure Examination in 2014. PRC is yet to issue and announce the date and venue of the oath-taking but together with other new physicians will commit to provide medical treatment and health care to the people as the world continues to face and combat COVID-19 pandemic.
